ResumoTwo patients with blurred vision and a bitemporal hemianopia mimicking condition as caused by parasellar tumors are presented. Normal high-resolution CT scans, normal endocrine functions, slight pleocytosis in the cerebrospinal fluid, and a one to two year follow-up with complete recovery of symptoms suggest a non-compressive lesion, probably chiasmal optic neuritis. The differential diagnosis of bitemporal hemianopia will be discussed.
