ResumoAbstract The mineral composition of apple fruit seeds and stems has been determined to supplement similar information previously obtained for the flesh of apples. The stems are similar in composition to apple tree shoots and are especially rich in calcium. The seeds are especially rich in nitrogen and magnesium. Inclusion of stems and/or seeds in homogenised samples of apple fruit could result in considerable errors in estimations of some elements, particularly calcium, nitrogen and magnesium. Potassium and sodium figures would be little affected.
