Uma escola de musica e artes brasileiras na Bahia

ResumoThe present article proposes a reflection about a future creation of a Music or Art School in the interior of Bahia, by intermediation of the UNEB university faculties. This idea originates from several studies and practical experiences with popular musical traditions that reflect the aesthetical and artistic diversity of this land and which is not included in the diverse levels of educational system of the state of Bahia. The methodology consists in theoretical reflections substantiated by studies and literature about cultural identity and diversity, Cultural Studies, art and music education, and processes of civilization of the Afro-Amerindian peoples. The principal items and arguments for a transformation in practice and theory of art-education with cultural identity and diversity are resulting from observation and research in various cultural regions as well as from practical experience in art and music education in several educational and sociocultural institutions. The article concludes with the summary of two projects which are in process of realization in the realm of the UNEB and might bring some practical experiences to corroborate and enrich the suggestion of the author.
