The authors assert that antifungal prophylaxis may be used in intensive care unit (ICU) patients without clinical improvement in high prevalence areas or in those with multiple risk factors for infection (corticosteroid use, prolonged microbial use, central venous catheter, total parenteral nutrition, high APACHE score, renal replacement therapy, or malnutrition) [1].
