Resumo

Classic studies about memory tend to associate it in the first place with an art, the art of remembering things associating mental images to places. The art of memory was relegated to the area of the individual, while social memory was associated to historical processes. Today images are not associated to places, many times the image doesn’t even bring back to a body anymore. This is the case of the missing persons in Colombian conflict. The pictures of them alone without any association with places and being repeated ad nauseam don’t make a big dentin the social memory. Compared to this model, the option of youth groups who work on the aesthetic and search for giving the images a place, returns to the association of mental images and places in the process of historic memory reconstruction in Colombia.
