Resumo

Changes in basal skin conductance and galvanic skin response to aversive stimuli were measured in 27 alcoholics before and after drinking small to moderate amounts of alcohol. Conductance increased and response decreased after drinking, suggesting that in alcoholics alcohol consumption is an anxiety stimulus and causes a reduction in over-all reactivity.
