Spectral profile of carbons of the cyclohexane extract from wood of Eucalyptus grandis Hill ex Maiden by 13 C NMR The objective of this work was to draw up the profile of carbons of the cyclohexane extract from wood of Eucalyptus grandis by 13 C NMR. The results indicated that cyclohexane extracts remained quantitatively constant in the three wood regions (sapwood, transition zone and heartwood), whereas methanol extracts presented differences, showing that environmental conditions modify quantitatively the most polar extracts. 13 C NMR results showed that the spectra of cyclohexane extract from heartwood were considered the most representative for the identification of E. grandis clones because of the largest number of existing resonance signals. With these results it was possible to identify a common spectral profile for each region, (sapwood, zone of transition and heartwood) of E. grandis wood.
