Resumo

Osmosis is a semipermeable membrane placed between a pure solvent and its solution. The originally settled equal liquid levels will change until a difference of liquid level Δh is established. The solvent tends to pass through the membrane into solution or more generally the solvent has the tendency to pass through membrane from a dilute solution into a concentrated one. This paper explains the osmotic distillation technology and its various applications.
