ResumoThis paper describes an approach to achieving better results of massive online courses by using game mechanics in the process of online education. The results of creating and using an interactive massive online training course for web developers in HTML5 and CSS3 in Russia are presented. The course uses new game mechanics of perfectionism and cohort ratings. The results of experimental research confirming positive effect of such game mechanics on the course performance (time of course completion, achieving better results in training, percentage of successful course completion) are provided.
