Resumo

We propose to investigate traces of cynicism in contemporary Portuguese novel. In the extent of Tetralogy Lusitana de Almeida Faria - composed of the novels A Paixão, Cortes, Lusitânia e Cavaleiro Andante - try to show how the author, while working with the theme of the Carnation Revolution, also presents a work of revolutionary dimension that posits a truth other and that, therefore, may be representative of a real cynic parresia, as proposed by Michel Foucault.
