ResumoIn 1978, Warren Zevon rocketed to the top of the charts with his song "Lawyers, Guns and Money". Lawyers have always been associated with power. This paper explores the different ways that lawyers exercise power in Canadian society. It divides the analysis into three sections: (1) Lawyers' collective exercise of power as a profession; (2) lawyers individual exercise of power through the lawyer-client relationship; and (3) lawyers individual exercise of power through participation in public life.
