O nosso objetivo por meio deste artigo e analisar como o jornal Lampiao da Esquina primeiro periodico gay feito por e para homossexuais a circular em nivel nacional no Brasil, entre os anos de 1978 e 1981, se apresenta por meio de algumas reportagens em relacao ao tratamento dado pela Religiao a questao da homossexualidade. Para tanto, pretendemos apresentar, de forma sucinta, o surgimento do jornal, um breve contexto relacionado a construcao do “ser homossexual” por meio dos discursos religioso, medico e estatal, para posteriormente observamos como o Lampiao da Esquina se apresenta em relacao a questao Religiao/Homossexualidade. Com isso queremos proporcionar novas abordagens no campo da Ciencia Historica, percebendo como os campos da sexualidade e da imprensa sao ferteis para analisar a complexidade das relacoes humanas e, principalmente, observar o papel social da imprensa gay acerca de todas as representacoes negativas ligadas a figura do homossexual. Assim poderemos perceber que notas nao so de desagravo como tambem de indignacao por parte dos que sofrem diariamente com esse discurso que exclui, que mata, que fere e transforma um ser, foram constantes no jornal, ou seja, a tentativa de “atacar” ou responder a Religiao, expondo pensamentos contrarios aos seus, e que eles nao influenciam na vida de uma pessoa, mostra qual a postura do jornal em relacao a Igreja e ao seu tratamento perante os homossexuais. Abstract In this paper we want to analyze how the first newspaper written by and for homosexuals circulating nationally in Brazil, between 1978 and 1981 called Lampiao da Esquina shows its opinion about the treatment that the religions did give to the homosexuality. Firstly we want to present succinctly the appearance of the newspaper with a brief context related to the construction of the concept through religious, medical and government discourses. Secondly we want to show the way the newspaper show the relationship between Religion and Homosexuality. In this paper we want to provide new approaches in the field of Historical Science noticing how the fields of sexuality and the press are fertile to analyze the complexity of human relationships and especially to observe the social role of the gay press about all the negative representations linked to figure of the homosexual. In that way we can see how the newspaper show its indignation about the suffering and the social exclusion of the homosexuals that take place constantly in the newspaper. Parallel to this the newspaper show somehow a answer to the religious discourse about the homosexual trying to confront it.
