ResumoThis paper will address the theological-liberating semantics found in Gaucho musical artistic productions of nativist style, linking songs, artists and original context of these productions with the theologicus locus of liberation theology. The intention is to assert a spirituality of Southern Earth, theologically questioning the possible communion between Nativist Music and Theology of Liberation, present in the songs developed in the context of re-democratization of Brazil and of the great social struggles today, approaching the nativist gaucho song to the biblical psalm, in understanding both in aesthetic, discursive and devotional categories expressing cries and hopes of the poor of the earth. We want to contribute to the dialogue between faith and culture, fostering refl ection on the boundary of theology and their tasks in the current context, recovering the speech and the prophetic aesthetics of gaucho nativism.
