ResumoCelebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the first edition of “The Future of Democracy”, this article proposes a reflection on the work of Bobbio, from his book “The Future of Democracy”, first published in 1984 in Rome . Discussions proposed in – grounded around the reflective process of Bobbio – are opposed to the best known Marxist theories on issues of law and the state. It is a debate caught both in academia and in the broader intellectual circles, and also reflects the achievements of contemporary democratic intelligence and dramas of political democracy in the twentieth century. It is projected for the future of democratic experience, whatever their course, in cases of a less unjust capitalist society or in the transition to a postcapitalist society still undetermined.
