Cruise Tourism Development and Management

The sea cruises and protected area have dialogues still to explore in the literature of the Tourism and Cities area of knowledge on this subject. This work focuses on the relationship between the port area of Rio de Janeiro and two specific protected areas involving major city tourist attractions: (1) Tijuca National Park (where is located the Corcovado Train and the Christ Redeemer statue); and (2) Natural Monument Morros do Pao de Acucar e Urca (where is the Sugar Loaf cable car.) The research is exploratory and the results deal with the opportunities for planning of the city of Rio de Janeiro while tourist destination for the cruise market.
