Efectividad del Programa de Rittenberg en pacientes con canal lumbar estrecho degenerativo sistematizado con seguimiento a 12 semanas

Resumo

Introduction: The surgical manage has been the most spread for the Degenerative Lumbar Spinal Stenosis. The non-operative treatments are also an effective strategy. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the exercises proposed by Rittenberg in patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis with the follow up to 12 weeks. Material and methods: Quasiexperimental. Group of 40 patients; clinical diagnostic confirmed with magnetic resonance imaging, the initial and final valoration with scale of pain, Schober test, tolerance to the march, functionality questionnaires (Oswestry) and quality of life (SF-36). Statistic analysis with t Student for related samples. Results: Evaluation of pain through visual analog scale presented improvement of 2.1 points. The mobility of the dorsolumbar spinal cord, with Schober’s technique improved the flexion 0.5 cm and for the extension 0.2 cm. The tolerance to the gaite with a media difference of 145.3 meters positive. Functionality of the Lumbar Spinal with Oswestry’s questionnaire with diminish of final disability of 13%, life quality with SF-36 final profit of 11 points. Conclusion: Rittenberg’s exercise program is effective to improve the clinic evolution and quality of life with the follow up to 12 weeks, in patients with degenerative and systematized lumbar spinal stenosis.
