ResumoThe paper presents a series of Preclassic sculptures from the Kaminaljuyu region in Guatemala. It discusses the chronological position of a complex forrned by big heads and representations of sitting, fat persons, sculpted in huge round water-carried rocks. It also deals with the opinion of some archaeologists as to the Pre-Olmec dating of the sculptures and it concludes that their true temporal position corresponds to the Micldle and late Preclassic
