Resumo

The Statute of Frauds, which requires a signed writing in order for an agreement to be legally enforceable, is one of the most known doctrines in the study of contract law. Beginning early in the first year of law school and continuing into bar exam preparation, students memorize the various types of contracts requiring a signed writing. Later, both litigation and transactional attorneys encounter assorted legal issues involving the Statute of Frauds.
