ResumoThe relation ship between transport and tourism have a common element the movement of people between and within the destinations. Consequently, this interaction makes the development of tourist destinations is exploited or not, mainly due to the existence or absence of efficient transport systems. Activity centers are a form of representation of this relationship and also a feature of the destinations whose size is related to their function, size, availability of infrastructure and high importance in regional urban hierarchy. Brasilia International Airport has a great geostrategic importance as a center of activity in regional context. The analysis goes back to the time of the transfer of federal capital from Rio de Janeiro to the Central Plateau of Brazil with the purpose of analyzing the geostrategic importance of the airport in the development of regional tourism and focuses on the collaboration established with the transportation network.
