JL here's no place to hide from your values. Everything you do reflects them. Even denying that your values show in your every act is a value indicator. For example, when you sell some thing like a used car ? how important is what you choose to tell the potential buyer? Deciding what to say about what you know of all the defects in that heap may not lead to a very deep dilemma, but the way you make up your mind is part of a lifelong search for the meaning and significance of living. Through the process of working on their values through values clarification, many peo ple have found their daily lives taking on new order and direction. The process of values clarification involves knowing what one prizes, choosing those things which one cares for most, and weaving those things into the fabric of daily living. It is sometimes taught by working on real-life situa tions, at other times by dealing with made-up stories, but always by grap pling with issues that are of real concern in people's lives. Let us return to the example of the used car. You and the potential buyer of your car are just stepping up to the corpus delicti. Some fascinating issues are about to unfold. Are you going to tell the person at your side everything you know is wrong with the car? Think about that. For
