Resumo

A varietal trial was laid out at the Regional Fruit Research Sub-Station, Bahadurgarh, Patiala to compare five varieties of sweet orange viz., Musambi, Blood Red, Jaffa, Hamlin and Valencia. Valencia was significantly better than the remaining varieties in girth and spread. It was on a par with Hamlin in height and better than Jaffa, Musambi and Blood Red. As regards yield, Jaffa was significantly better than Musambi and Blood Red in 1967–68 and in 1968–69 it was better than Valencia, Blood Red and Hamlin.
