ResumoAcari: Tetranychidae)The red spider mite, Tetranychus evansi Baker & Pritchard, may reach very hígh leveis on tomato during thedríest periodofthe year.It also frequently causes severe damage to several other solanaccous planta. In this work was evaluated differenttOmato genotypes resistanceto this mite under laboratory and greenhouse conditions.Oviposition rates was studied in the laboratory on excised leaves inside Petri disbes.ThetwogenotypeS resulting in highest oviposition rates and the four resultirig in the lowest oviposition rates were used in a multiple choice test in Petri dishes containing one leafiet of each genotype.lo the greenhouse, the symptoms caused towholepiants were graded according to a scale varying from 1 to 5. The overall results indicated the most promisirig genotypes in increasing order were Taiwan 5, Nemadoro and P1 134417, and the mostsusceptiblo genotypes in increasing order were 5-G-41, CN-C and Ângela Gigante.
