Resumo

Psalm 22:23 is one of numerous OT citations in the book of Hebrews. Thus, before the excursus of this study is started, the question of its validity and necessity may be raised. The examination of this single-verse citation is necessary for three reasons: firstly, it is one in a series of three third-class citations (the direct speech of the messiah), therefore having immense rhetorical significance in the discourse; secondly, Psalm 22 in general has permeated the language, that is, the semantic environment of the Christians in the first two centuries, and finally, as a case-study, it is also directly relevant to the question of the LXX as Praeparatio Evangelica.
