Resumo

This paper shows the pollution of the Amur River, which is the water supply source for the city of Khabarovsk. The Amur River is polluted by aromatic and polyaromatic hydrocarbons, phthalates, chlororganic compounds, metals, etc. Major pollution of the Amur River comes from the Sungari River, which is located in the Chinese territory. An alternative source of water for Khabarovsk is groundwater. It is 10 km west of Khabarovsk on the opposite side of the Amur River. The capacity of the Tungus site is estimated to 500,000 m3/day. The distance between the abstraction wells and the river is about 1.8 km. Calculations show that the first portion of bank filtrate will approach the nearest well after about 2 years.
