ResumoThe issues that bring credit and prestige to a nation, and the achievements endearing them are discussed in the article. Many of the princes and governments have genuinely treasured aspirations for the progress of knowledge and for its applications to increase health, comfort, and prosperity. This is particularly important to the national pride of smaller countries like Australia whose political influence and military power is necessarily not great, and to the newer countries that lack a rich historical heritage.
