ResumoANDHRA PRADESH Left in the Cold M Shatrugna IN the recent Assembly elections Telugu Desam routed not only the ruling Congress but also the Communist parties in the state. Both the CPI and CPI(M) who initially wanted to have an electoral alliance with Telugu Desam could not do so as NTR refused their demand of 90 seats. While the non- communist Opposition ended with 5 seats, the voting pattern for the CPI and CPI{M) shows that their popii- larity has eroded considerably in terms of both seats lost and votes polled. This is in spite of the fact that there was an electoral alliance between these two parties.
