Taxonomic review of Centaurea sect. Lepteranthus (Neck.) Dumort. (Asteraceae) in the Iberian Peninsula. A taxonomic review of Centaurea sect. Lepteranthus (Neck.) Dumort. in the Iberian Peninsula was done. Twelve taxa are recognized and a new combination is proposed, C. gallaecica (Lainz) Arnelas & Devesa, a taxon which is included in a different section, Jacea (Mill.) Pers. A key for the identification of taxa is made, also their morphological description, information on geographical distribution, their ecology, their phenology and their chromosome numbers are given.
