Practices of Fishermen on the Sea Coast (Santa Catarina, Brazil) This article presents the first results of an inquiry carried out among the collective organizations of coastline and artisanal fishing on Santa Catarina Island, in the south of Brazil. At the heart of our consideration is the notion of �landscape�. The study starts off with observing the vigias (watchmen) who take a position along the seaside to look out for schools of mullet fish and guide the boats of fishermen who will encircle them and take them in their nets. Using panoramic photography and video sequences, we are able to take in the �distributed cognition� of the lookouts, the other fishing companions, the fish, the winds, the tides, the boats, the nets and the technical instruments. The commitment of the participants provides the condition from which one can perceive this environment. We put forward a way of situating this distributed system of perception central to production of these coastal landscapes. francaisRafael Victorino Devos, Gabriel Coutinho Barbosa et Viviane Vedana, La production du paysage. Pratiques de pecheurs en bord de mer (Santa Catarina, Bresil) Cet article presente les premiers resultats d'une enquete, realisee aupres de collectifs de peche cotiere et artisanale, sur l'ile de Santa Catarina, au sud du Bresil. La notion de « paysage » est au c�ur de notre reflexion. Le point de depart de cette recherche consiste a observer les vigias (guetteurs) qui se postent en bord de mer pour reperer les bancs de mulets et orienter l'encerclement et le rabattage des poissons. Grâce a des photographies panoramiques et a des sequences video, nous sommes en mesure d'apprehender la « cognition distribuee » entre les vigies, les autres compagnons de peche, les poissons, les vents, les marees, les bateaux, les filets, les instruments techniques. L'engagement des acteurs est la condition de perception de cet environnement. Nous proposons de situer ce systeme distribue de perception au centre de la production des paysages cotiers.
