Both patients exhibited hemisensory loss, denial of illness, and amnesia for the manic episode. One improved with lithium therapy and the other recovered without specific pharmacologic intervention. A review of reported cases reveals that most focal lesions associated with secondary mania involve the diencephalic region and that the majority of lateralized lesions are on the right side.
