Resumo

Thirties and Forties against the background of her travels through Europe and to the Orient, the USA and Africa.One travel story describing a journey from Europe to Persia, entitled "…Sehr viel Geduld" (1934/35), illustrates how the characters in her work, by their actions and opinions, represent different 'Gesichter' ('faces') of Interbellum Europe as well as different European ways of approaching 'die Fremde' (the Other).This results in a complex and compelling discursive constellation, which can be analyzed in its spatial, temporal, and social dimensions.
