ResumoA Paraconsistent/statistical method for quantitative evaluation of plastic granules (Pellets) in beachesObjects recognized as Pellets are plastic granules of tiny dimensions (< 5mm) derivatives of propylene.Due to their porosity the plastic Pellets have a high capacity of association to contaminants, mainly organic, acting as a transport and exposure to pollutants in marine organisms.It is known that, among other causes, the growing increase of this material in the marine environment comes from port activities in their handling and transport.In this work we present a method to calculate the incidence of pellets in the sands of the Santos city beaches through a monitoring and analysis with reference to a statistical study quantitative based on non-classic logical.To create metrics in comparative study of the incidence of Pellets we use algorithms originated from the foundations of a non-classical logic capable of dealing with contradictory results called of Paraconsistent Annotated Logic -PAL.The values obtained in the degrees of evidence format show that the Paraconsistent/statistical method is valid and creates the conditions of use of this technique for quantitative analyzes in other ecological sites with collections similar to those presented in this work.
