In a clinical study we treated 16 children, suffering from severe hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS), with streptokinase or heparin. All children received the same symptomatic treatment (early dialysis, transfusion of packed red cells). A control group of 10 children was only treated symptomatically. No difference could be shown in clinical grading of severity.
