Resumo

SummaryGrowth hormone experiments with emasculated and effeminated flowers of Cox’s Orange Pippin apples have shown that it is possible to obtain normal-sized parthenocarpic fruit if mixtures of an indole-type auxin, gibberellin and synthetic cytokinin are applied simultaneously. Results from two seasons show that the time of application is very important, and normal fruit set is obtained only if the treatment is given approximately two weeks after petal fall.
