Resumo

The column was written with clarity and, yes, some humility. What happened to Steve Jobs “by well-meaning physicians” in the presence of a celebrity has been going on for decades. For example, see Chapter 1: “Gilda Radner: A Personal Perspective,” by Gene Wilder in “Gilda's Disease: Sharing Personal Experiences and a Medical Perspective on Ovarian Cancer” (Piver MS with Wilder G: Prometheus Books,1996).
