ResumoWe conducted this study in an remaining area of degraded caatinga at Paraiba Serido, located in Barra farm town of Santa Luzia, Paraiba state, with the goal of raising it phytosociological structure. We identified 20 species of plants distributed in 12 botanical families in which the following parameters were determined: number of individuals, basal area, density, frequency, and relative dominances and value coverage. The families Cactaceae and Euphorbiaceae, with 4 species each, were the most abundant, representing 40% of all species found in the area. The values of density and basal area shows that these were drastically reduced environmental peripheral to the central area environment. Regarding the ‘coverage value’ observed the predominance of two species: Mimosa hostilis with 49.83% and Cnidoscolus phyllacanthus with 19.64%, which makes evident poverty of vegetation at the site and the fragility of the caatinga biome agents as impactful.
