ResumoIn Sweden, hunters and game biologists have discussed for a long time whether or not the big predatory animals should be tolerated. The brown bear (Ursus arctos), wolf (Canis lupus), lynx (Lynx lynx), wolverine (Gulo gulo), and perhaps even some predatory birds such as the eagles, particularly the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaoEtos), are considered big predators. Reindeer-managing Lapps and many hunters are very unkindly disposed towards these animals because they regard them as very harmful to reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) and game, and they want to combat the predators with all means. However, nature conservationists and others are of contrary views and want to preserve them for the future.
