ResumoThe present article examines the question of how Raul Zurita's poetry deals with issues of bodily pain and torture, in particular in his 2003 book INRI. These problems appear in the book as attributes of the violent execution of power and are tied to the literal and metaphorical disappearance of the victim and to his or her individuality. Unlike Zurita's other books, however, INRI not only denounces the disappearance of victims, but also tries to give back to those who have disappeared some of the presence that was taken from them by identifying their bodies with a landscape.
