ResumoA serum-neutralization test that was useful in determining the immune status of immature birds to avian encephalomyelitis (AE) is described. The safety of the CAE strain of AE administered by the wing-web method as a single injection was demonstrated in the laboratory and in the field. The efficacy of the vaccine to immunize birds was evaluated in the laboratory by serological means and in the field by serological and egg susceptibility tests. Simultaneous wing-web application of fowl pox vaccine with the CAE strain of AE was safe, practical, and effective.
