ResumoChemistry teaching faces some diffi culties in relation to the learning of theoretical concepts.To try to reverse this situation a teaching proposal, based on a methodology for solving conceptual problems involving separations of mixtures was applied and analyzed.The proposal was carried out with 25 high school students at a public school in Ponta Grossa.The contents were applied and subsequently analysis was performed by means of open and closed questions with reference to the psychometric method proposed by Felder and Silverman (1988) regarding learning styles.It was found that the proposal meets the basic requirements demanded by the Ministry of Education (MEC), since it works with varied learning styles, which does not occur in traditional didactic proposals.
