Resumo

This study analyzes the content of messages that advocate that cooperative games are superior to competitive games, especially in a transformative education based on human social values . Therefore, we analyzed the inventory of features created by Fabio Brotto, a Brazilian reference in the study and dissemination of these games. The arguments used by the author value cooperative games, which are considered hegemonically positive, in detriment of the implications engendered by competitive games, blamed for the spread of negative educational counter values. Such arguments are presented without consistent evidences or theoretical basis and taken as a truth to demonstrate the advantages of a game over another. As a result, there are characteristics that are not unique to each game, but belonging to a given relational situation, i.e., to the subjectivity of human relationships
