ResumoThis course called for more than just reading the assigned books and talking about abstract theories. The combination of intense bookwork and discussion we did on campus and then the extended trip in the mountains gave me the chance to think about my personal ethics. Everyday I felt free, in a way that's really rare when I'm on campus. I was able to weed out the meaningless stimulation that I engage in at home and came up with more meaningful goals. I realized how easily we become distracted in our day-to-day lives back at home. Out here in the wilderness there are no distractions and you can take the time you need to chart a new course for yourself, to think about the person you are and the person you want to become.
