Resumo

Immigrant and ethnocultural minority groups are more likely to receive late diagnosis, have poorer diabetes control and self-care, develop complications, and require acute care. Community-based diabetes strategies should meet the needs of high-risk, vulnerable groups. A review of lifestyle modification programs was completed to guide development of a prevention program targeting Chinese and South Asian communities in Vancouver, BC.
