ResumoThe correlation between the phase change and the appearance of ferromagnetism in Ni75−xMnxSn25 alloy was studied. There appeared three kinds of phases with the DO19-type hexagonal, the DO3- and the Heusler (L21)-type cubic structures in this alloy. In each phase, the ferromagnetic Curie temperature, Tc, had a tendency to increase with increase in Mn content, x. The Tc vs x curve showed a discontinuous drop by the phase change from DO19 to DO3, and had a bend at x=25 and a small minimum at x=32 in the cubic phase. The composition dependence of Tc in the DO3 and L21 phases was analyzed by the molecular field approximation taking into account the magnetic interaction energies of Mn–Mn pairs between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd near neighbors.
