Resumo

Twenty-one lichens collected in Buenos Aires Province are enumerated. The genera Calicium, Haematomma and Sticta are reported for the province for first time; nine species are new to the known flora of Argentina. The author points out some species of lichens collected in Buenos Aires Province that are additions to the known flora of Argentina or represent a considerable increase in range in the Province. Besides material preserved in the author's private herbarium, specimens from the following herbaria have been studied: Departamento de Botainica, Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales Bernardino Rivadavia (BA); Departamento de Ciencias Biol6gicas, Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Buenos Aires (BACF); Instituto de Botainica C. Spegazzini, La Plata, (LPS); Departamento de Botinica, Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Montevideo (MVM). An asterisk (*) indicates a new province record; (**) indicates species new to Argentina. *Acarospora lorentzii (Miill. Arg.) Hue. TANDIL: Tandil, on stones, Frangi 194 p.p. (LPS). A New Species of Clasmatocolea (Hepaticae) from Tasmania JOHN J. Clasmatocolea verrucosa Engel, noted for its huge cuticular verrucae, is described as new from Tasmania. Clasmatocolea verrucosa Engel, noted for its huge cuticular verrucae, is described as new from Tasmania. During the course of work on collections of hepatics of Tasmania, a fascinating species of Clasmatocolea came to my attention. To make it immediately available for use, the name is being published separately, and further details of the species are included in a monograph of the genus (Engel, in press).
