Resumo

Cladosporium species are increasingly being recognized as opportunistic pathogens in solid-organ transplant recipients. These infections require prolonged antifungal treatment and are associated with significant mortality in this population. The most commonly reported clinical manifestation in transplant recipients is brain abscess; however, there are now several reports of infection outside the central nervous system. In this report, we present the first case of apparently successfully treated Cladosporium esophagitis in a liver transplant recipient.
