The PAPHY complexes of certain metals are suggested as acid-base indicators. The colour change intervals of aqueous solutions of the complexes of Cu(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) have been studied. Apparent indicator constants have been determined. The performance of the indicators in titrations of weak and strong acid and bases is excellent. Les complexes PAPHY (pyridine-2-alde´hyde-2'-pyridylhydrazone) de certains me´taux sont propose´s comme indicateurs acide-base. On a examine´l'intervalle de virage de complexes de cuivre(II), fer(II), nickel(II), zinc(II) et cadmium(II) en solutions aqueuses. On a de´termine´les constantes apparentes d'indicateur. Les re´sultats obtenuesa`l'aide de ces indicateurs pour des titrages d'acides et de bases forts et faibles sont excellents. Die PAPHY-Komplexe einiger Metalle werden als Sa¨ure-Base-Indikatoren vorgeschlagen. Die Farbwechsel-Bereiche von wa¨ssrigen Lo¨sungen der Komplexe von Cu(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Zn(II) und Cd(II) sind untersucht und die scheinbaren Indikatorkonstanten ermittelt worden. Die Indikatoren eignen sich ausgezeichnet fu¨r Titrationen starker und schwacher Sa¨uren und Basen.
