ResumoThe papers that follow were among those presented in two symposia on Famous Zoologists, at the annual meetings of the Society of Systematic Zoology in St. Louis, in 1952, and in New York, in 1960. Each of these anecdotal talks was intended to bring out the personality of a deceased but famous zoologist as seen in the eyes of a present member of the Society who himself experienced the effect of that personality.
