Glaciofluvial and marine deposits in the area investigated are described and their origin discussed. The marine material consists mainly of silt. Terraces are found roughly at two levels (Table II). C14 – dating of tests of marine molluses (Table III) from two different localities gave ages of respectively 7910 ± 120 and 7620 ± 160 years. The deposition of the shells is discussed. The two terrace levels correspond with Øyen's Tapes level and Trivia level in the Oslofjord area. The formation of the two levels is assumed to coincide with variations in eustatic uplift in the first part of the Atlantic climatic period.
