The palimpsest leaves 152-166 of the factitious Ms. Vallicellianus C 9 (XI and XII centuries) belonged once to a Beneventan manuscript, written in the IXth century, and containing Priscian's Institutiones grammaticae and Partitiones XII versuum Aeneidos principalium. After an analytical description both of the Vallicellian Ms. and of its palimpsest leaves, the author dwells in particular upon the text of the Institutiones offered by the ff. 152-158 (GL III 180, 16-211, 20 Hertz). This text is closely related to Vat. Lat. 3313 (IX century), our best witness for the reconstruction of the Beneventan branch of Priscian's text.
