ResumoAmong a series of Rictularia of various species from the U. S. National Museum Helminthological Collection loaned to the writer by Dr. E. W. Price was a bottle of fragments of females, apparently undescribed, from a kangaroo rat. Although there were no complete specimens of this nematode, longer pieces included the vulva and the anterior or posterior end, making it possible to compute an approximate length, and to count the combs and spines. The material had been collected from Dipodomys sp. at the Climatic Station, Santa Rita Mts., 3,900 ft., 35 mi. S. Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, by C. W. Quaintance, August 5, 1931. Dr. D. F. Hoffmeister, Assistant Curator, Museum of Natural History, University of Illinois, examined the measurements included by the collector (252-142-36) and reported that .. this kangaroo rat, for which the specimen apparently is no longer extant . is most likely Dipodomys merriami. The small hind foot (36 mm) is particularly suggestive of the Merriam kangaroo rat, D. inerriami. The following description is based on glycerin cleared material:
